PS Programmes TV Media Skills Training is usually delivered at one of our selected TV studios in Central London with our expert team of media coaches and journalists. To make sure you have plenty of time to practice and receive constructive feedback, we usually have a maximum of 4 delegates from one company or organisation. If required we can accomodate up to 6 delegates per programme. We also provide one-to-one TV Media Skills Training Programmes, and if requested we can run both TV and Radio Media Skills training sessions.
We also build TV Media training programmes to suit your budget and location. If you have the available room facilities at your offices, we can mock up a TV Studio on site with our own cameras, lighting and editing equipment, or we can source a studio that is local to you.
What does a TV Media training programme include?
Our TV Media training programmes include interview practices, filming, playback, coaching, feedback and a DVD of your performance.
We can also provide you with support after your TV media training programme, please get in touch with us to discuss.
Who should attend?
Key personnel who may need to represent your organisation or their own business on TV:
- Senior management
- Management teams
- Executive directors and chairpersons
- In-house experts, editors, authors and academics
- Analysts and consultants
- Media spokespersons and press officers
- Independent experts
Why mainly focus on visual media?
Our media training programmes mainly focus on the visual media. This is because appearing on TV is the most challenging environment to get your message across. The difference between performing well and badly is very apparent to the watching audience. Your reputation, market positioning, share price or public perception could be at stake. As a result, we devote our media training to performing well on TV - so whether you are being interviewed for your local news or you are appearing on Newsnight - with the world becoming increasingly visual, you need to stand out from the crowd and be able to handle the media in a positive way.
Crisis Media Management
Whether you are a business, government agency or charity, at some point in the life of every organisation, you will have to face bad news and deal with an internal or external crisis.
We've all seen the headlines - from challenging economic issues, shares price slumps, natural disasters, human errors, mergers and acquisitions, sell-offs, to sackings and resignations.
How your senior staff and spokespeople respond can be the difference between restoring confidence in your reputation or facing years trying to rebuild it. In today's 24 hour global media age of TV and online news the importance of performing competently and confident in front of a camera could not be more acute.
PS Programmes Crisis Media Management Training will arm you with the skills to perform effectively so that you are prepared for a crisis. To maximise the time you spend with us effectively on our Crisis Media Management Training, we will work with your Internal Communications, PR Department or PR agency prior to attending your training session.
Crisis Media Management Training will help you:
- Learn how to handle hostile interviewers and guests
- Master the art of thinking on your feet
- Turn adversity into an opportunity
- Understand the imperative of acting swiftly
- Avoid the dangers of poor comment, no comment and ill judgement
- Be able to perform persuasively with conviction, poise and purpose
Crisis Media Management Training is a must for organisations operating in highly competitive or high profile environments.

Jamie Bowden
Jamie Bowden has spent most of his working life in the airline industry. As the former principal TV & Radio spokesman for British Airways, he conducted hundreds of interviews including the ones spokespeople dread: BBC's agenda setting radio programme Today, Channel 4 News and BBC2's Newsnight and consumer programmes such as Watchdog and You & Yours.
Jamie managed the initial media strategy of one of the UK's most successful tourist attractions - The London Eye, and planned and managed the live global TV broadcast of Concorde services resuming, with an audience of more than one billion viewers.
Jamie is now in demand on both TV and radio as a commentator on aviation and travel issues. For the past decade, he has appeared regularly on BBC News, ITN, Sky News and CNN providing insight and commentary on operational, commercial and crisis situations, ranging from horrific events such as 9/11 and air accidents, through to commercial and PR challenges such as the opening of Heathrow's Terminal 5 and the impact of volcanic ash and snow on national flight operations.
Jamie understands the unique pressures executives face during a crisis because he's been there. Many former journalists offer crisis media training, but Jamie is able to advise executives from a perspective only they can understand - their own. He recognises the fine balance executives must strike to satisfy the often conflicting requirements of key stakeholders in any crisis: employees, shareholders, city analysts, board members, and most importantly of all, customers and future customers.
His detailed understanding of broadcast news media, his extensive media contacts and his excellent relationships with the key news producers, puts Jamie in a unique position to offer advice on working with the media.
